Volunteer Background
I am a Xicana organic orchardist based out of Hood River, Oregon. This year I'm focusing my efforts on organizing my seed saving skills through a couple of courses, books and practice of course! I grow over 20 varieties of peaches and nectarines, along with several small gardens and a smattering of other fruit trees and berries. I'm also a masters student of Environmental Studies at The Evergreen State College.
Favorite Crops & Least Favorite Crops
I like to grow fruits and perennials, we are considered Zone 7 but some of our winters I would consider to be more Zone 6 or 5. We have good loamy soils with very arid summers that have little to no rain.

Lots of gophers and other rodents, which my dog and I try to fend off yearly. We have some issues with peach leaf curl and spotted wing drosophila.
