4H tricolor corn project
I have a junior 4H student (middle school level) who is interested in seed saving and plant breeding. She is working on a blue, purple and pink dryland corn grex.
Description
I have a junior 4H student (middle school level) who is interested in seed saving and plant breeding. Last year she crossed six varieties of flour corn (2 blue, 2 purple, 2 pink) to create a base grex. This year she is adding more varieties and looking for others who:
1. Have varieties of blue, pink and/or purple flour corn they are willing to add to the mix
And/or
2. Are willing to grow out the tricolor corn grex and share seed back.
Corn is planted interspersed so as to cross as prolifically as possible.

What will you ask volunteers to do?
If you are able to grow out, take any notes, and send back seed, it would be much appreciated! Volunteers may be interviewed on their growing experience as part of the project if willing.

No additional requirements, just curiosity!

Can volunteers expect to be able to keep some germplasm (seeds, bulbs, cuttings, spores, etc) at the close of the project?
