Volunteer Background
I live in Nelson BC, Canada (zone 6a/7b) and have a small, 1 acre edible plant nursery and food forest-style mixed orchard (thimblehill.ca). I've been growing on this site since 2017, so my trees and systems are still quite young and in development.

Soil Details
Our site is varied and sloped with different soil types in different areas. Most areas are a deep sandy loam with good organic matter but there are pockets of clay as well. Because of some previous machine activity, certain areas are more compacted. There is seepage and underground springs in areas in April - June, but a low water table in summer. Areas available for EFN are a mix of heavily mulched no-dig permanent beds with high organic matter, as well as recently cleared and tilled sandy loam with one season of buckwheat, radish, and oat cover cropping - all full sun on 3-8% south slope. I have more soil testing to do to find out about deficiencies and amendments needed in different sections.
