I have been interested and reading about permaculture for several years and have attended some design training. My husband and I are slowly developing our food forest/perennial vegetable/fruit & nut plantings.
Favorite Crops & Least Favorite Crops
It is still a little too early to tell on the perennials - Turkish Rocket really took off ;-) Seakale failed, fruit & nuts still getting established - early success with hazelnuts. Blueberries doing poorly - I think neither acidic or wet enough spot. Elderberry failed in one spot - I think also too well drained. Very successful transplant of wild ramps with bulbs and seeds to a bed closer to house so we will continue this effort each fall. Asparagus doing well - neglected to weed strawberries - second try with rhubarb doing much better.
Kitchen-garden's worth (41 to 100 sq. ft)
Sorry - I cannot figure out how to get that thing to work.
Neighbors' Crops (within 1/4 mile)
