I started gardening in my own garden when i was 7 with a few years away for college. I have a degree in biology and in computer science. I am an amateur plant breeder and seed saver. I was a Certified Advanced Master Gardener for 7 years including Master Composter Certification the last 2. I've worked several years for the USFS as a plant restoration technician/botanist, 5 years of experience as a farm manager for 2 different organizations. I am involved in several community projects including Partridge Creek Farm in Ishpeming and the Queen City Seed Library in Marquette Michigan. I am interested in the breeding and variety selection of hops, corn, kale, spinach, lettuce, mustard, tomatoes, beans, potatoes, sunflower, sun-chokes and others as time and space permits. I am currently most focused on tomatoes, potatoes and corn. I am an wild foods and mushroom hobbyist and certified mushroom harvester/seller in the state of Michigan. I occasionally do speaking engagements on gardening and seed saving. I am an active member of the local Lions club.
